Brown had refused to sign his tender offer of 3.62 million and skipped all the Saints off season workouts. Brown did finally sign his tender before heading off to Washington for a physical. He is slated tentatively as the starting right tackle for the Redskins opposite first round pick Trent Williams.

The deal was for a conditional pick in next seasons draft with the Saints receiving either a 3rd or 4th round selection.

The New Orleans Saints received their Super Bowl rings on Wednesday night. The rings were presented in a ceremony at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans. The ring features 44 diamonds to commemorate the 44th Super Bowl.

Saints QB Drew Brees told reporters, “It’s pretty incredible. In fact I think it’s absolutely perfect because nothing was left out on that ring as far as the symbols of our season.”

Former Saints players Mike Bell, Scott Fujita and Deuce McAllister even attended Wednesday’s ceremony. You can see a photo of the ring right here.

New Orleans Saints fans are one step closer to being able to obtain a commemorative license plate celebrating the Saints historic Super Bowl victory. The Louisiana House and Senate have voted passage of the bill and it has been sent to Governor Bobby Jindal for him to sign into law.

The license plate will cost Saints fans 25.00 per year and the proceeds will go towards paying off debt on the Superdome. Louisiana Rep. Jeff Arnold has said that the plates should be available by the start of the NFL regular season in September.

The New Orleans Saints head into 2010 not only as the defending Super Bowl Champions, but they are now the defending team on the Madden 2011 video game based on offensive ranking. In the Madden 2010 version, the Saints had an offensive rating of 94, and though in the 2011 version of the game their rating dropped 2 points, the Saints again managed to best the Indianapolis Colts.

Of course this isn’t the first mention of the Saints and Madden 2011. Earlier in the year, New Orleans QB Drew Brees was named to adorn the cover of the popular video games box. Brees shock off any notion of the Madden Curse associated with the player making the cover of the game’s box.
