Bush was that rare player that made good football sense and good business sense. There was no way the Saints could have passed him up so ALL second-guessing is moot.

Rob, this is where the gold nuggets are found in the NFL. The Saints have consistently “worked the dirt and the rocks” and yielded gold. How do you think they have such great talent and stay under the salsry cap? Every one of these rookies can prove themsleves once they get into camp. Mc Daniel should have been a third round pick. It’s called DRAFTING FOR VALUE.

Brees hasn’t hurt himself in my eyes. He did what quarterbacks are supposed to do. Lead. He could have taken the quiet route like Brady and Manning but that’s not who he is. Taking the heat and the harsh comments will forever be appreciated by his teammates, who would have faced retaliation from owners.

It should be a tougher place to play and it’s not fans’ fault that it’s not. The Saints were 5-3 there last year and 6-2 in the Super Bowl season the year before. A great team should be 7-1 or 8-0 at home in the regular season. The Saints aren’t holding up their end. They need to defend their turf better.

I have stopped defending that selection, especially to fans of other teams or supposedly “impartial” observers. He plays quite a bit like Mario Williams if you ask me. He makes big plays sometimes and disappears other times. The difference is Mario disappears on the field and Reggie disappears to the sidelines with injuries or personnel groups. Both selections were right for their team and their cities. Obviously, his contract will have to be redone and he’ll have to accept something in the Pierre Thomas range to stay here but I want him here and if he’s honest with himself, he’ll see that being on a good team that understands his capabilities is his best bet and he’ll remain a Saint.
